I couldn't agree more about the sleep labs. They are so atypical compared to a home situation that you wonder how any findings could be valid. I, for one, would never be able to sleep in such a situation in the first place. I can rarely sleep outside my own bed unless drugged into a stupor; unfamiliar surroundings are guaranteed to keep me awake.

That said, I would not go so far as to blame the entire field of medicine for all the new diseases, syndromes, and conditions we keep hearing about. The majority of them, I think, are deliberately "created" by the pharmaceutical companies to generate more sales for their drugs.
